Members present: Van Lanning, Merrilee George, Cathy Relyea, Dave Harvey, Rich Welnick and Perry England.
Van called the meeting to order and stated that he had moved the fire pit up because of the high waters in the winter. Merrilee proposed that Dimitri Porcelli be hired to do the Beach Club maintenance. Van said that he would like to see us just have a barbecue to invite everyone to ‘enjoy’ the beach instead of having a work party. It was passed unanimously.
Van reported that John Raffetto had purchased a paddle boat for $250 and took it down to the Club, but that it had not been secured and was stolen. It was decided that in regards to boat storage rental fees, if the boat is not donated to the Club, $250 per year will be charged to keep a boat on the rack. All boat owners will be given 30 days’ notice to vacate or pay the rent for a slot. Joe Mraz will be given a free slot in thanks for his years of service to the Club.
Perry reported a quote of $8200 on the key code card entry lock system. This was one bid, but the product can be purchased over the counter for $875 – $1500; the hardest part is the installation. Key coded locks are needed on the main gate and the bathrooms. Everyone liked the idea of having key code access to the Beach to track usage and felt it was a good investment for the Club.
The following project ideas will be presented at the Annual Meeting for discussion:
- Sand: $500 proposed for expenditure
- Access: Parking below with permit needed for sloping
- Key Code Lock: $2500 – 3500
- Boat slips: $30,000 – check into permits and zoning to get started and find out about Bellevue City laws for motorized boats if neighbor says we can’t bring them in
- Could cover capital costs through rental of slips
- Boats: Acquire more
- Floating dock/swimming platform: Check on insurance costs and feasibility
It was proposed that we have monthly barbecues throughout the summer in the months of June, July and August so everyone can enjoy the Beach Club more. Dates will be picked, and any and all will be invited. Van said we would get a ½ cord of wood for the fire pit.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Merrilee George
