Sammamish Beach Club

About Our Club

Formed in 1972

The Sammamish Beach Club was formed in July of 1972 to provide a Non-Profit administrative body for a private shared beach that is an integral part of land ownership in Bellevue, Washington’s Beaumont, Sammamish Heights and Lake Crest communities. (See Bylaws (Adobe PDF, 82KB) for an exact definition of which land parcels are authorized to participate in the Club.) Today the Club serves 135 homes.

Location

The Beach property is located at 2442 West Lake Sammamish Blvd S.E. and can only be accessed by “Members in good standing” who have a code that will open the gate in a security fence that protects the beach from unauthorized access. The land parcel is shared with The City of Bellevue which has a large pump station on the beach property.

How to Get to the Beach

Primary land access to the beach property is via foot traffic. There is no road access for Beach Club members. (Only City maintenance personnel have right-of-way to a private road that is adjacent to the Beach Club Property.) Safe and convenient foot traffic access to the beach property is supported by easements between properties at 2500 171st Ave SE and 2442 171st Ave SE that provide a six (6) foot wide path from 171st Ave. SE to the west side of West Lake Sammamish Blvd. S.E. The path goes to a tunnel (owned by the City) that passes under West Lake Sammamish Blvd S.E. The Sammamish Beach Club also has an easement for unfettered use of that tunnel.

Administration

The Board members are unpaid volunteers who take on the responsibilities of administering the beach property, making sure that dues are collected and that services are provided for the benefit all Club members.
