Board Meeting (4/19/16)

Present: Perry England, Randy Farrow, Merrilee George, Tom Horton, Jim LaForce, Bob Milam and John Raffetto
Absent: Philippe Poutonnet Denice Malone has resigned

The meeting was called to order by President, Perry England. He asked Merrilee to discuss the financial statement. 2015 dues collected were $15,385, with an additional $3220 in arrears that was collected. There are 116 homes current with their dues. We discussed the need to carry a cash reserve fund of enough money to get us through a year’s expenses. Core business expenses such as maintenance, utilities and insurance must be paid each year, and we can control improvements, recreational equipment and supplies and stay within the budget. It was recommended that we transfer $2000 to the reserve (savings) fund this year.

Under the proposed budget, it was voted unanimously to allot up to $7500 for improvements. This will include landscaping/plantings, landscape/improve the steps to the grassy area as a safety issue, landscape the upper path, re-do the platform above the tunnel and replace the top rail on the deck. The bathhouse storage room on the right would be gutted, sink decommissioned and pipe capped off, door removed inside, shelves moved, cabinet made for maintenance supplies, with a combination lock on its door and possibly installing lockers for rental of private paddle storage. It was suggested that we install a paddleboard rack near the boat storage and completely clean out the storage shed so it can be used for quicker access of the life vests, encouraging the required use.

The budget for Recreational Equipment and Supplies was proposed at $2500. Good, sturdy resin furniture should be purchased, old life vests replaced and watercraft replaced if necessary.
