SAMMAMISH BEACH CLUB BOARD MEETING MAY 4, 2021
The meeting was called to order by President, Perry England. All members present except Rich Welnick.
It was reported that the City of Bellevue will complete the sinkhole repair during the winter of 2021. Meanwhile, we will possibly have a work party to fill the hole this summer if necessary.
Discussion was held on the improvements completed for 2020-21 and 2019-20 as listed:
Improvements 2020-2021:
- Completed boat storage project
- Improved landscape throughout property – including hillside & tunnel areas
- Installed new path light sensor
- Installed new light in bathroom
- Replaced gate lock
- Purchased new 1st Aid kit
- Maintenance completed weekly, garbage taken care of
- Purchased kayak seats and back rests, new paddles
- Completed disaster repairs
2019-2020:
- Removed milfoil in cooperation with Bortkos
- Purchased a kayak, grill cover, boat locks, paddle & playground mats
- Made swim platform repairs
- Maintenance & bathroom cleaned weekly, plants watered
- Replaced batteries in gate
- Performed disaster repairs
- Held Annual Meeting & Annual BBQ
It was mentioned that the boat storage is tall to accommodate canoes also. We will look into getting handles for the paddleboards for easier storage.
The financial statements were discussed. 2019-20 was included because no meeting was held last year, but Merrilee wanted to show accountability for the finances. 120 homes are current with their dues for 2020; 119 were current last year.
Discussion was held regarding the 2021 dues and what our expectations would be for expenditures this year. It was voted that we charge $150 dues. A new patio, retaining wall repair and possible removal of the current cement patio and table will be an expense that we can be building our baseline for. Bids will be obtained on all possibilities.
It was voted to have the Annual Meeting on June 24th. It will be in person if possible; otherwise on Zoom. There will be no Barbecue. All members on the Board agreed to continue serving. One more Board member will be added at the Annual Meeting through nominations from the floor.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Merrilee George
Secretary/Treasurer
