Annual Meeting (5-16-23)

The meeting was called to order by President, Perry England.  Officers of the Board introduced themselves, followed by all members introducing themselves also.

Dues will be $150 this year and are due by June 1st.

Merrilee reviewed the Financial Statement.  A cash reserve is being built up in case of a disaster.  The trimming of trees and bushes was a large expense, but worth it for safety and security.

John was thanked for the repairs and improvement made on the swim platform plus moving it further out to prevent injuries in the shallow water.  The gate lock is becoming problematic, despite new batteries – members are asked to report if they have any problems.

We will continue to purchase life vests, and John stated that we are open to ideas and suggestions from members for purchases or improvements.  Orien and John are working on finding a flat-bottomed boat for families to use.

Michael Lampi asked about webcams for additional security to prevent vandalism and late-night entries.  It was stated that there is no good wifi at the Beach Club, so we have to rely on the cameras at the neighbors’.  Michael will send info for possible set up of cameras.

Cathy Relyea will be in charge of signing people up to “Sign-up Genius” for Weekly cleaning of the Beach Club (remove trash, clean & refresh bathroom, check supplies), and Weekly cleaning and watering of landscape plus a Handyman for minor repairs and maintenance.  (Large jobs will be contracted out).

Daily security checks during the summer to secure watercraft, check for damage and clean up the Beach Club will be handled by Orien’s boys and Ariane’s son.

John and Orien will look for 2 paddleboards, 2 kayaks and 1 paddle boat.  Orien will advertise the old ones.

Vibhor and John will get a computer system update for gate locks & the bathhouse lock.

A proposed capital improvement to replace the unsafe concrete patio and retaining wall because of the safety issue was discussed.  Many options will be looked into and quotes obtained.  A presentation will be made in September.

Board Retirement and recruiting:  After 29 years of service to the Beach Club, Merrilee is retiring.  Thanks were given by all.  Board members agreeing to remain on the Board are:   Perry England, John Raffetto, Ariane Ogier, Cathy Relyea, Michael Hensel, Vibhor Bhatt & Orien Kuang.  Secretary nomination: Ann Lanning, Treasurer nomination: David Ciccanti, Board nomination: Emad Elwany.  Hubert Ogier agreed to be on the Board.  All were elected unanimously.

Respectfully submitted,

Merrilee George
